Pinwheels shout, “Have fun!” without outright screaming it. They’re adorable, but not over-the-top, and with a relatively simple color palette, they can really jazz things up. The Once Wed site provides a fabulous DIY tutorial for creating this fun embellishments out of scrapbook paper, which is impossible not to be inundated with at a craft store, as anyone who’s ever set foot in a Jo-Ann Fabrics or Michael’s will attest to. For brides-to-be looking to save on a pretty dress, Once Wed also has a fantastic listing for quality used wedding dresses at great prices.
Pinterest is my bread and butter these days, when it comes to finding, categorizing and sharing ideas and images about wedding, style, home decor, you name it. Pinterest led me to the pinwheel cake image at the top, which led me to KarasPartyIdeas.blogspot.com, which took me down the rabbit hole, into a dizzying array of DIY ideas for pinwheels galore. I can’t seem to get enough of this Web 2.0sharing experience.
Without the likes of Pinterest, Etsy, Wedzu and the many wedding style blogs that I frequent on a daily basis, such as Style Me Pretty, Ruffled, Green Wedding Shoes, Once Wed and 100 Layer Cake, I’d probably be a lot more sane, but I’d also be much less inspired. Follow me on Pinterest, if you want to see what it’s all about. I’ve got to admit, it’s pretty cool!
